Waqar A Saleem, MD

Waqar A. Saleem M.D., FAAFP, is a hospital medicine physician with Norton Hospitalists. He earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan, and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Louisville. He is board certified in family medicine, hospice and palliative care, and addiction medicine, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

As a hospitalist, Dr. Saleem provides care for patients admitted to the hospital and works with other health providers to coordinate their care.

Dr. Saleem also serves as an assistant clinical professor at University of Louisville and clinical faculty, University of Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program. In addition to clinical practice and teaching, Dr. Saleem serves as vice president of the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, vice president of Muslim Americans for Compassion, promoting better interfaith understanding, Doctors for Healthy Communities with emphasis on health equity and a volunteer physician at Family Community Clinic in Louisville.
