Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Ping Shi, M.D., Ph.D., is a neurologist specializing in neuromuscular disorders with Norton Neuroscience Institute. She earned her medical degree from Shandong University School of Medicine in Jinan, China, and completed her neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Shi focuses on diagnosing and treating neuromuscular conditions and performing electrodiagnostic procedures to guide patient care. She prioritizes active listening and works closely with patients to help them understand their conditions and engage actively in their treatment plans.
Outside of work, Dr. Shi enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and two cats. She also loves traveling and trying new foods.

I love Dr. Payne. She even called me one evening after I had been taking my medication for a few days to see how I was doing.
