Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Nicole Dexter, D.O., is an interventional cardiologist with Norton Heart & Vascular Institute. She earned her medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Tennessee. She completed her internal medicine residency at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, and her cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. She is board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology and echocardiography.
Dr. Dexter specializes in cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, acute coronary syndrome, chronic stable angina, heart failure and heart disease prevention. Her practice philosophy extends beyond treating blockages and performing interventions, and emphasizes early detection, patient education and long-term prevention strategies to improve quality of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Dexter enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.
