Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Kourtney B. Martin, APRN, is a nurse practitioner with Advocates for Women’s Health, a Part of Norton Women’s Care. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Frontier School of Midwifery & Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky. Kourtney specializes in midwifery. She chose to become a midwife because she truly loves being a part of such a miraculous moment in people’s lives and helping them bring their baby into the world. She has an interest in natural birth and encouraging and discussing coping mechanisms to help women through birth. Kourtney’s goal as a provider is to help women and their families feel comfortable and understand any discussion about their health.
When Kourtney is not caring for patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter and traveling as much as they can.

The office staff was friendly and helpful. Kourtney Martin went through my medical records and discussed them with me. She was very kind and thorough. I would be comfortable contacting her and/or her office if I had questions or problems. I am glad I am established with Kourtney.

I had to switch from Baptist to Norton due to insurance change. I was upset because I loved my provider at Baptist, but I shockingly loved the provider I saw even more!!! She was a 10/10 provider and made me feel so comfortable, seen, and cared for.

Nurse Martin was helpful and patient and heard my concerns for the follow up appointment. She had helpful insight for how to have better appointments in the future and at home care to ensure the best possible outcome for myself and my pregnancy. She was personable and kind, calm and helpful.

Kourtney was kind enough to get me in at the last minute because I went to the wrong location. This was my first time meeting her and I honestly would love to have care with her again. Knowledgeable about my health within a few minutes and ask what was needed from her to help me if I changed my mind about certain parts of my health.
