Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Joshua S. Day M.D., is a general surgeon with Norton Surgical Specialists. Dr. Day earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham. He completed his residency in general surgery at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Homewood, Alabama, and a hepatobiliary/endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) fellowship with the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Dr. Day’s clinical focus is general surgery and performing minimally invasive procedures, including robotic-assisted surgeries for hernias, gallbladder issues and other gastrointestinal conditions. His care philosophy is to spend time getting to know his patients personally so he can be available for any questions, concerns or difficulties that arise.
Outside of work Dr. Day enjoys traveling with his wife, playing basketball and other sports, and going out to restaurants.

First visit with Dr. Day. Great experience. He gave a thorough explanation of pros and cons connected with surgery. Very clear in his explaining. No rush. We felt very well informed to make a final decision. Would definitely recommend him to others!
