Joshua D. Harman, D.O., is an orthopedic oncology surgeon with Norton Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Harman earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Central Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in orthopedic oncology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Harman has specialized training in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors in adult and pediatric patients. In his fellowship training, he gained focused expertise in limb-sparing procedures, sarcoma care and the management of complex oncologic reconstructions. His clinical interests include limb salvage surgery, metastatic cancer care, complex joint reconstruction and revision, and the multidisciplinary management of musculoskeletal tumors. Dr. Harman prioritizes shared decision-making and the development of tailored treatment plans that emphasize each patient’s short- and long-term goals of care. His approach to treatment is rooted in preserving function, optimizing quality of life, and supporting patients and their families through the challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure orthopedic oncology is fully integrated into cancer care for adults and children. Outside of work, Dr. Harman loves traveling with his family, spending time outdoors, and seeking out great meals along the way. A recent (and humbling) foray into golf has reminded him that mastery doesn’t always come quickly, especially on the course.
Dr. Harman is the Steven Vanover Endowed Chair through generous funding from the Norton Healthcare Foundation. The Steven Vanover Endowed Chair is a significant initiative by the Steven Vanover Foundation through the Norton Healthcare Foundation, aimed at providing a sarcoma-focused oncologist in Louisville. This chair will be the first of its kind in Kentucky, enhancing cancer treatment and research efforts.

If this is pertaining to my orthopedic surgeon and his PA, I absolutely love both of them. Would not want anyone else.

I'd give NP Ertel a "10" if that was available. She exuded a level of empathy and expertise not oftern found.
