Erika A Banta, PA-C

Erika Banta, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant with Norton Heart & Vascular Institute. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Bellarmine University in Louisville, and her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Kentucky, Lexington.

As a provider, Erika cares for patients during their hospital stay. Her commitment to patient well-being extends to overnight care for those admitted to the hospital, especially when extended care is necessary. Erika offers empathy, education and guidance for her patients during their hospital journey and empowers them to actively participate in their care decisions, knowing that their well-being depends on informed choices.

Erika was born in Louisville and grew up in Crestwood, Kentucky. Her interest in health care began in childhood, after her father’s cancer diagnosis. Erika witnessed the exceptional care he received from the compassionate surgeons, oncologists, nurses and especially the physician assistants at Norton Healthcare. Their dedication and willingness to educate and support patients and families left a lasting impact on her.

When not at work, Erika enjoys a balanced life. She finds joy in quality moments with family and friends, working out, cooking and spending time with her dogs.
