Biography/ Philosophy of Care
David M. Kersting, APRN, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with the Norton Emergency Medicine Department. He earned his master’s degree in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville and holds national certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner.
David has experience in emergency medicine and in intensive care units. As a nurse practitioner, he evaluates and treats patients across a wide spectrum of emergent conditions, aiming to stabilize and support patients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
David’s care philosophy is rooted in compassion and empathy, recognizing that in emergency medicine, patients often are seen during the worst time of their lives. His goal is to treat every patient the way he would want my own family member cared for — with professionalism, kindness and respect.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and getting outdoors for walks and relaxation.
