Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Danielle C. Ray, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife with Norton Women’s Care. She earned her associate degree in nursing from Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and her master’s degree in nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, Kentucky.
Danielle provides urgent care for patients who come to the hospital with pregnancy-related concerns. This includes evaluating contractions, checking on babies, managing complications such as high blood pressure, and addressing urgent symptoms during and after pregnancy. She works closely with physicians and the care team to ensure patients receive safe and timely care. Before becoming a midwife, Danielle worked in labor and delivery, postpartum, pediatrics and out-of-hospital birth settings, giving her a well-rounded background in caring for women and families.
Danielle’s care philosophy is rooted in listening, education and shared decision-making so patients feel empowered. She supports natural birth whenever possible and values teamwork with OB/GYNs for higher-risk situations. Her goal is to provide compassionate and evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s needs.
In her free time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her husband, who is stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and their four children. Family time is her greatest joy and keeps her grounded outside the hospital.
