About Andrew L Laurel

Biography/ Philosophy of Care

Andrew L. Laurel, M.D. is a diagnostic radiologist with DXP Imaging, which provides radiology services to Norton Healthcare patients. He earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Laurel also served tours in Korea at a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) unit, as well as in Germany with a Combat Support Hospital. After separating from the Army, he completed a fellowship in body imaging at the University of Colorado, Denver. Dr. Laurel previously worked in private practice in Oklahoma, and as an assistant professor at Baylor Scott & White Clinic in Texas. His subspecialty training focused on the use of CT, MRI and ultrasound to evaluate disorders of the abdomen and pelvis, with a particular emphasis on high-risk obstetrical patients.

Dr. Laurel was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and has been a resident of the Louisville area for a dozen years. He enjoys spending time with his family, including hiking, skiing and travel.
