About Amaya N Yantis

Biography/ Philosophy of Care

Amaya N. Yantis, APRN, is an emergency medicine nurse practitioner at Norton Audubon Hospital. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing and her master’s degree in nursing in from the UofL School of Nursing. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Amaya provides care for patients of all ages with acute conditions. She assesses, diagnoses and treats patients while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses and specialists to ensure timely and effective care. She also plays a critical role in patient education, safety and discharge planning.

Amaya’s patient care philosophy centers on empathy, compassion and communication. She strives to see beyond the fast pace of the emergency room, recognizing the emotional and psychological dimensions of patient care. She believes in building trusting relationships with patients through clear communication and empowering patients to take an active role in their health. Her goal is to provide the same quality of care she would want for her own family.

Outside of medicine, Amaya enjoys reading, gardening and staying active. She also loves spending time with friends and family, exploring weekend trips and collecting houseplants. She has a lighthearted outlook on life, believing in strong coffee, well-timed humor, and balance between work and personal passions.
