Akbar Nawab, MD

Dr. Akbar Nawab, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon practicing at Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics. Dr. Nawab specializes in knee preservation and replacement, sports injuries, and cartilage restoration and has been twice recognized as “Top Doc” by Louisville Magazine. Practicing at Ellis & Badenhausen since 2003, he is an innovator in knee implant technology and trains surgeons worldwide on minimally invasive techniques. He is also a clinical instructor at the University of Louisville, and serves as a team physician for multiple sports teams including the Louisville Bats, the University of Louisville, Bellarmine University, and Jefferson County High School. Dr. Nawab lectures nationally and internationally and is actively involved in research on advanced knee surgery methods.
