Abigail C Augenstein, MD

Abigail C. Augenstein, M.D., is a hospital medicine physician with Norton Hospitalists. She earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency.  

Dr. Augenstein coordinates care for patients admitted to the hospital alongside any specialists who need to be consulted. Her patient care philosophy is to treat every patient as if they were family. She became a hospitalist because she loves working closely with patients and their families to help them navigate through challenging times. She recognizes that coming to the hospital often can be overwhelming, and she likes to take time with patients to make sure they understand everything that is taking place with their care.

Outside of work, Dr. Augenstein enjoys spending time with her daughter and pets (four cats and one dog). She loves true crime documentaries and University of Kentucky basketball. Go, Cats!
