Phillip G. Strothman, M.D., is a surgeon with Norton Healthcare General Surgery. Dr. Strothman earned his undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University and his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Strothman provides comprehensive surgical care for a wide range of conditions involving the abdominal organs, skin and soft tissue. He performs both emergent and elective procedures and is experienced in endoscopy. His surgical expertise includes advanced laparoscopic surgery, robotic-assisted surgery and endoscopic procedures.

Dr. Strothman believes patients are best served when they are active participants in decisions about their care. He takes time to explain each patient's diagnosis and discuss the available surgical options, helping patients understand the benefits and considerations of each approach. By providing clear information and listening to each patient's individual needs and goals, Dr. Strothman works with patients to develop a treatment plan that is right for them.

Outside of work, Dr. Strothman enjoys spending time outdoors. He particularly enjoys hiking and backpacking, cycling and participating in triathlons, as well as skiing during the winter months.
