Biography/ Philosophy of Care
In clinical practice, Dr. Thomas treats a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure and arrhythmias. His background in athletics and clinical expertise in sports cardiology allow him to evaluate and guide patients, whether they’re competitive athletes or simply striving to improve their fitness, in safely reaching their health and performance goals. He also has a strong interest in inherited cardiac conditions, combining personal insight with clinical expertise. He has published research and created protocols designed to improve ambulatory blood pressure control and improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Thomas focuses heavily on preventive care, and believes in meeting patients where they are — whether that means preventing a heart attack, reducing hospital visits or improving overall cardiovascular fitness. His mission is to equip each patient with the knowledge and tools they need to reach their health goals and lead heart-healthy lives.
Originally from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Dr. Thomas grew up deeply involved in athletics, an interest in fitness, and within a family affected by inherited heart disease — an experience that naturally led to a career in cardiovascular medicine. In his spare time, you can find him playing tennis, on a golf course, or enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Lauren, and young daughter, Leighton.

The Doctor was very engaged and interested in my case. He showed genuine concern and was very kind. He told me about a couple of scenarios that could determine treatment. I was very happy with his care.
