Biography/ Philosophy of Care
Jaclyn Cappy, PA-C, is a physician assistant with Norton Heart & Vascular institute. Jaclyn earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at Sullivan University in Louisville. She is board certified, and currently is completing a critical care fellowship specializing in adult pulmonary and intensive care medicine.
Jaclyn cares for patients in the intensive care unit who have serious or life-threatening illnesses. She works closely with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and other members of the healthcare team to monitor patients, manage complex medical conditions, adjust treatments, and support patients and their families during critical moments.
Jaclyn believes that excellent patient care begins with listening. She strives to treat every patient with compassion, respect and dignity, especially in vulnerable and high-stress situations such as critical illness. Her goal is to combine evidence-based medicine with clear communication so that patients and their families feel informed, supported, and involved in decision-making.
Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Jaclyn is proud to serve the community she calls home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling and visiting loved ones. She loves playing chess, working on puzzles, watching reality TV and cheering on Kentucky basketball.
