About Andrew K Aschbacher

Biography/ Philosophy of Care

Andrew K. Aschbacher, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, A-GNP-C, is a nurse practitioner with Norton Community Medical Associates. He earned his doctoral degree in nursing from the UofL School of Nursing.

Andrew is dual-certified in family medicine and adult-gerontology care. His focus is on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan, from birth through end of life. He is especially passionate about geriatric and palliative care, aligning treatment plans with each patient’s individual health goals and values.

Andrew’s approach is rooted in compassion and whole-person care. He believes in empowering patients through education, spending meaningful time to ensure they understand their conditions and the tools available to support better health outcomes. His practice emphasizes partnership, trust and continuity of care.

In addition to his civilian practice, Andrew served as an officer in the United States Air Force, where he provided care to veterans, dependents and active-duty personnel. He holds specialized certifications in tactical combat casualty care, expeditionary medical care, CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives), and sexual assault medical forensic examination.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys running, playing guitar, and spending quality time with his wife and their two children.
